Communication, dissemination and exploitation activities

Objective
The goals of WP6 are:

Defining of concrete and comprehensively targeted messages;

Design of an integrative external communication strategy;

Design of an effective dissemination and exploitation strategy;

Give visibility to all project actions, raise awareness, strengthen the capacity and foster innovation on SI in African farming systems.
6.1
Communication activities
Communication activities, aiming at raising visibility of project information and findings to the various audiences, including groups beyond the project community, will be planned at the beginning of the Project and included in the Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation Plan.
6.3
Exploitation, scenarios and recommendations for greater uptake of innovations
A plan for an efficient exploitation of Project outputs and results will be developed to ensure their usability by a broad number of end-users and stakeholders beyond the life of the project, and their transformation into significant improvements of knowledge and wealth of local populations.
6.5
FFRU’s enlivenment and knowledge sharing
A key aspect tackled by EWA-BELT project will be the strong engagement of end users, technicians, practitioners and farmers within the FFRUs, where Initial knowledge sharing events will be organized to start sharing and testing the utility and role of the innovations identified in WP2 and WP3.
6.2
Dissemination activities
Thematic international workshops will be organized as side events of General Assemblies (GA), at least once a year, to deepen technical issues on specific topics. Publishing on high-ranking open access reviewed international scientific journal to disseminate EWA BELT results will be ensured by partners according to the advancement of project and specific subjects of interest.
6.4
Capacity building
As transversal support to the dissemination and exploitation activities, this Task aims to enhance the capacity of local farmers, agricultural actors, young researchers, technicians and students at the capacity building activities in FFRU level and during participatory workshops.
6.6
Maximization of the EWA-BELT impact at the UN level
During the annual Infopoverty World Conference (IWC) organized by OCCAM at UNHQ in NYC, a special session will be devoted to the promotion and dissemination of the EWA-BELT activities and results. In particular, the Project progresses will be presented and discussed during the conferences IWC20, IWC21, IWC22, IWC23 and IWC24.
